Our non-custodial services support people at every stage of the justice pathway — before, during and after contact with the criminal justice system. Working alongside partners in health, justice and community services, we provide early intervention and court-ordered mental health treatment, and support people leaving custody to access the community-based care they need — helping to address the underlying causes of offending while keeping people safely in the community.
Central to everything we do is a commitment to lived experience. People with direct experience of the justice system shape our service design, delivery and improvement — ensuring our support is authentic, responsive and capable of achieving meaningful, lasting change.

Our Liaison and Diversion service identifies people with mental health, learning disability, substance misuse or other vulnerabilities at the earliest point of contact with the criminal justice system. We support people through the early stages of the criminal justice pathway, refer them to appropriate health or social care services, and where appropriate help to divert them away from the criminal justice system entirely.

Our Reconnect service supports people leaving prison or an immigration removal centre who have an identified health need. Working with individuals before their release, we help them transition to community-based services — safeguarding health gains made in custody and reducing the risk of crisis after release. Reconnect offers liaison, advocacy, signposting and support, and is available across Yorkshire and the Humber.
